Texas Enters Phase III of Reopening

Texas Enters Phase III of Reopening

June 13, 2020Virtus Law PLLCNo CommentsCategories: News

Beginning Friday, June 12, 2020, Texas Governor Greg Abbott has announced that Texas will continue  with Phase III of its reopening.

Beginning June 12, 2020

  • Restaurants may increase their occupancy to 75%;
  • space between tables is reduced to four feet apart, if a barrier is in place between tables;
  • if no barrier is in place between tables, tables then need to be spaced six feet apart.
  • Bars may increase their capacity to 50%.

Other Critical and non-Critical Sector’s guidance have not changed.  Governor Abbott has also issued additional guidance regarding holding large outdoor events like 4th of July celebrations.  Those events, including 500+ person events, are allowed to go forward, but local government authorities may require changes or modifications to the event (for COVID-19 safety reasons).

You can find a copy of the most recent guidance for businesses here. The Open Texas website also has checklists and key guidance for businesses in various industries that are reopening. Virtus Law, PLLC continues to monitor developments in this (and other COVID-19 areas) and will continue to post relevant updates to this website.
